Ministry of Culture and Equinor present

the gallery

Morro da Providência is, by decree, the first open-air museum of favelas in the country. However, the essential synergy between external interventions and the soul of the community was lacking. The Gallery appears to fill this gap: it is a proposal from the bottom up, made by residents to residents. More than an exhibition space, we are a movement that transforms the territory into an environment of creation, collective care and social justice.

mission

Promote education, art and culture in Providence, boost local talents and transform the look on the favela.

view

To be a reference in innovative social technologies and cultural practices, valuing the favela as a producer of knowledge, art and resistance.

values

Ancestrality, Circularity, Communitarianism, Axé, Body, Ludicity, Good Living, Antiracism, Interculturality, Belonging
